Passo Valparola is located in the northeastern part of Italy, specifically within the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its stunning alpine landscapes. It’s in the vicinity of the town of Cortina d’Ampezzo, which is a popular tourist destination and a gateway to the Dolomites. It was featured in the High Altitude World Championships 2024.
The pass itself is accessible from La Villa, north of the top, or as a 2-kilometer extension of Passo Falzarego, which is ridden from either Pocol or Cernadoi. This high-altitude pass offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges, including the Tofane group and other prominent peaks.
The pass is typically climbed from Pocol near Cortina d’Ampezzo, and it can be part of a larger cycling loop or route through the Dolomites.
It provides awe-inspiring views of the Dolomitic mountain scenery. You’ll be surrounded by jagged peaks, lush green valleys, and the unique geology and rock formations that characterize the Dolomites. It’s a perfect spot to stop and take in the natural beauty and capture some memorable photos.
