One of the iconic climbs of the Giro d’Italia! When it’s included in the Giro it’s usually the Cima Coppi, the highest point reached during the course. The side from Ponte di Legno is the most famous.
The first section in the wood is the hardest; then the gradient lets you admire the fantastic landscape until the dark tunnel is 3km from the top, so be sure to have lights! However, don’t be afraid of the dark; once you exit the tunnel, the last significant effort is required to conquer the col! At the top, enjoy the superb view and get ready for the descent: you can go down from where you came from or to the other side towards Santa Caterina and Bormio to climb one other iconic climb like the Passo Stelvio!
