Located approximately 75 kilometers from Nice, Parking des Millefonts is better known for its hiking trails than for cycling. However, it provides one of the most southerly Alpine ascents for cyclists.
The climb begins in Saint-Dalmas, but the ride from Nice to the start of the ascent feels like an extended false flat. Spanning 11 kilometers, the climb presents a notable challenge, with average gradients of about 7.5%.
Situated in the Mercantour National Park, the summit offers picturesque views. Despite this scenic backdrop, the climb mainly attracts experienced col-hunters due to its challenging nature.
