Oberalp Pass, standing at an elevation of 2,046 meters, is a breathtaking high mountain pass that connects the Swiss cantons of Graubünden and Uri. Known for its stunning landscapes and delightful cycling routes, it is a major transit point in the central Swiss Alps, attracting tourists, cyclists, and hikers.

Cyclists can approach Oberalp Pass from multiple directions, with the most popular routes being from Andermatt in the north and Disentis/Mustér in the south. The ascent from Andermatt covers about 10 kilometers with an average gradient of around 6%, making it a moderate climb by Alpine standards. The route from Disentis is longer, stretching approximately 20 kilometers, with a similar gradient, offering a steadier and more gradual ascent.

The well-maintained and relatively wide road provides a comfortable experience for both vehicles and cyclists. During the summer months, the pass is particularly popular, so cyclists should be aware of moderate traffic, including tour buses and motorcycles. Despite the traffic, the journey offers a scenic experience, with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

Oberalp Pass is not only a practical transit route but also a destination in itself, offering a picturesque setting and a variety of outdoor activities.
