Traversing the entire Nockalmstrasse from Innerkrems to Ebene Reichenau, you’ll cross two Deux Mille cols: Eisentalhöhe and Schiestlscharte. Each of these cols can be tackled separately. To reach Eisentalhöhe, one faces a climb of about 8 kilometers, starting either from Innerkrems or Karlbad. For an Austrian col, the inclines are relatively moderate, yet they still present a challenging ascent.

Located in Carinthia, Eisentalhöhe forms part of the Nockberge Biosphere Reserve. This area is committed to environmental stewardship, ensuring that visitors can relish the splendor of the Alps in a way that is both responsible and sustainable. The Nockalmsstrasse becomes a toll road just outside Innerkrems, which keeps the climb lesser spoiled than other know cols.

Most of the climb swirls up through the forest and only in the last kilometer, the landscape opens up.
